The Oklahoma department of correction encourages friends and family members of inmates who demonstrate a good influence to communicate and visit with an inmate. This can help the inmate in the rehabilitation process, and eventually with his or her reintegration back into society. Below are some important things you should know if you are planning on visiting an inmate.
You must be on the inmate's approved visitation list prior to visiting.
Visiting Hours are as follows:
During the first 30 days upon arrival at BJCC (without a background check) is limited to two immediate family members over the age of 18. The offender will contact you with the time and other information for the non-contact visit. Important: Everyone is required to submit a “Visitor Request Form” which will be supplied to you by the offender (please make as many copies as you need). Background checks will be completed on everyone over the age of 18. The offender will notify you when the process is complete. The approval process takes approximately 8 weeks once the Visitor Request Form has been returned to BJCC.
