Dixon Correctional Center

Dixon Correctional Center is located in Lee County Illinois. It is a medium security prison that can incarcerate up to 2,529 adult males making it the largest medium security institution in the state. It has it's own psychiatric unit which is a maximum security custody level, an infirmary unit, a geriatric unit, and special treatment unit which houses mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and mentally handicapped inmates in a medium security setting. The size of this institution is spread out over 125 fenced acres that sits on 462 acres of land, a truly massive prison complex.

Inmates have access to counseling for substance abuse, anger management, sex offender treatment and life skills. A hospice and adult geriatric care is provided for inmates who require it. Offenders can take academic courses to earn a GED and adult basic education as well as associates degrees in arts and liberal studies. Vocational skills taught at Dixon Correctional Center include custodial and building maintenance, small business management, cosmetology, culinary arts, various construction trades, and laundry/dry cleaning.

Visiting Hours at Dixon Correctional Center:

General population has visitation everyday from 8:30am-5:30pm. If you arrive after 4pm you will not be allowed to enter into visitation. General population inmates can have six visits per month, with no more than two visits occurring on the weekends.

Non-contact visitation is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12pm-5:30pm. If you arrive after 4pm you will not be allowed to enter into visitation. Inmates who have non-contact status are only allowed two visits per month that are one hour in duration.

Segregation inmates are allowed visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-3pm. If you arrive after 2pm you will not be given entrance into visitation. Segregation inmates can have two single hour visits per month.
