Visiting an Inmate at Ely State Prison

The Nevada department of correction encourages friends and family members of inmates who demonstrate a positive influence and serve as good role models to communicate and visit with an inmate. This can help the inmate in the rehabilitation process, and eventually with his or her reintegration back into society.

Visiting Hours are as follows:
Mondays and Tuesdays (Maximum Lockup/CMU Inmates);
Wednesdays and Thursdays (General Population Units 5, 6, 7 inmates);
Friday, Saturday and Sunday (General Population Unit 8 inmates);
Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening (Minimum Custody inmates).

Visiting hours are 9:00 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. for all daytime visits, and 4:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. for the minimum custody inmates. Visitors are encouraged to call 24 hours in advance to make sure the inmate is still located at Ely State Prison, and that their visiting days have not changed.

For more information on visiting an inmate or answers to any questions you may have read the inmate visiting regulations here or contact the institution directly at the telephone number above.
