Sending Money to an inmate in Missouri

Family and friends of an inmate may send money to an inmate by United States Postal Money Order, or online through Accesscorrections.com.  When doing so, the money order must be made payable to the Missouri Department of Corrections and accompanied by a Department of Corrections deposit slip.  Each offender has access to deposit forms and can send the slips to you at any time.  Be sure to include the inmate's name and ID number in the Memo field.   All transactions should be forwarded to the following address:

Offender Finance Office
Missouri Department of Corrections
P.O. Box 1609
Jefferson City, MO 65102

This office processes money transactions only, all other correspondence sent to this address will be disposed. It is important that you supply all information requested on the deposit slip in a legible manner. If you have questions, you may call the Offender Finance Office at (573) 526-6445.

Do not deposit money to other offenderʼs accounts. This is usually a sign of illegal activity or a way to get around established procedures and will result in disciplinary sanctions.

Can I call FRDC and ask if my application is approved

re:Visiting Application Status

You can try, I doubt they will give you any information on your visiting status over the phone, in most instances they leave tell the inmate when a visitor has been approved and they leave it up to the inmate to inform you, so you may want to ask them through a letter or the next time you talk to them on the phone.

re: Approved visitor list

It is the responsibility of the inmate to inform any potential visitors that they are approved, and on the visitation list.  The best thing you can do is contact the inmate through mail or ask them over the telephone the next time they call.  Did you fill out a visitation application?
