Inmate Mailing Address:
Inmates may receive letters, and photos. Include the inmates name and ID just as the mailing address above shows.Be sure you do not mark the envelope or letter in any way, lipstick, perfume, crayon art, drawings or markings of any kind will result in the correspondence being returned. Inmates may also receive New paperback books, magazines, newspapers or other printed matter mailed directly from the following: (Be sure to include the inmate name and ID number and send to the inmate mailing address above).
Family and friends of an inmate may send a United States Postal Money order by mail to the inmate mailing address listed below. All money orders must be made payable to: IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account. The money order must include the following: offender name, offender number, sender’s name and sender’s complete address. All writing is required to be legible. If the deposit does not follow these guidelines it will be returned to the sender by mail.

Send money to an inmate online using your bank account at westernunion.com.
The process used is “Quick Collect”.
Senders’ must use the “Pay to” as the Iowa Dept of Corrections.
The “Code City” is IOWADOC and the “State” is IA.
The “Sender’s account #” is the offender ID number and offenders last name. For example, 1234567Jones.
If the offender number and last name do not match the IDOC records the payment will be rejected.
Fees for this service vary by amount sent and are available by using any of the three options listed above.
Funds are posted to the offender accounts three times a day with the last transactions for the day occurring around 3:00 PM central time.
The department of correction and rehabilitation encourages family and friends who have positive influences and serve as good role models to communicate and visit with an inmate. This can help the inmate reintegrate with society when they are released.
Visiting Hours are as follows:
Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (no visits on Tues / Wed)
8:30 am to 4:00 pm (no visit shall begin after 3:00 pm)
8:30 am to 4:00 pm (holidays if they fall on a non-visiting day)
