Inmate Mailing Address:
Inmates incarcerated in Mobile County Jail are allowed to receive letters cards (non electronic) and photos (no polaroids, sexually suggestive or nude photos). Your complete name and address must be written legibly in the return address area of the envelope. When sending correspondence always include the inmates name and Identification number as the mailing address above shows. Do not mark the envelope or letter in any way. No stamps, pens or pencils, small trinkets, or jewelry or other items should ever be mailed with the correspondence. Staples, paperclips, lipstick, perfume, crayon art, stickers, drawings or markings of any kind will result in the correspondence being returned.
Inmates may also receive New paperback books, magazines, newspapers or other printed matter mailed directly from the following: (Be sure to include the inmate name and ID number and send to the inmate mailing address above).
Family and/or friends may add funds to an inmate's account using the following methods:
1) Postal money orders under $50.00 may be brought to the Money Clerk’s office. The money order must have the inmate’s full name and date of birth and the sender’s name and address including zip code. The number of money orders sent/delivered to the Money Clerk’s Office is unlimited.
2) Money orders under $50.00 may be mailed to the Money Clerk’s office. The money orders must have the inmate’s full name and date of birth and the sender’s name and address including zip code. All money orders should be addressed in the following manner:

3) Money may also be placed on an inmate’s account utilizing the Cashier located in the lobby of the Metro Barracks seven days a week, at any time of the day or night. The Cashier accepts cash, debit cards and credit cards. The cashier eliminates the need to purchase money orders. Deposits made through the Cashier, GPS, toll-free service, and internet are immediately available for commissary purchases
4) Money can also be posted to an inmates account electronically over the Web or Telephone. Visit Mycarepack.com and select the State Alabama and Facility to Mobile County. Next Click Smart Deposit. This service accepts Visa and Mastercard. Transactions are processed through PayPal. Or by telephone by calling 1-866-394-0490. Have the following information ready:

Inmate's First and Last Name
Inmate's ID Number (which can be found using the inmate search below)
And have your credit card and billing info handy.
The Mobile Metro Barracks visitation is from 8:30am to 6:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Inmates will have one (1) 30 minute visitation period each week.
All visitation, with the exception of attorney visits, is non-contact.
The people on an inmates approved visitation card should call the Jail, 251-574-3388 or 251-574-4734, to schedule an appointment to visit. All appointments must be made 24 hours in advance.
Cell phones are not permitted during visitation.
