Neuse Correctional Institution

Neuse Correctional Institution is located in Goldsboro North Carolina.  It is a minimum security correctional institution that houses up to 788 male inmates.  Neuse Correctional Institution is responsible for the intake and processing of all adult males who have been convicted of misdemeanors in the state and processes adult felons who will be incarcerated for less than 24 months.  Intake processing consists of assessing and testing the inmate, then classifying and transferring them to a facility that can address their individual security and program needs.  590 of the 788 beds at Neuse Correctional Institution are reserved for inmates going through this intake process.

Neuse Correctional Institution offers substance and alcohol abuse programs, GED classes, computer classes, parenting courses, and various religious programs.

Visiting Hours at Neuse Correctional Institution:

Inmates must be at Neuse Correctional Facility at least 14 days before they are allowed visitors.  All visits are by appointment only.  You can schedule an appointment Monday-Thursday by calling (919)-581-1035.  Visits are two hours in duration and occur as follows:

• C/D Housing Units and Processing inmates have visits on:
  • Thursdays from 9am-11am
• ​B Housing Unit and General Population inmates have visits on:
  • Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm
• Segregation inmates have visits on:
  • Mondays-Fridays from 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm
