Visiting an Inmate at Parnall Correctional Facility

The department of correction encourages family and friends who have positive influences and serve as good role models to communicate and visit with an inmate. This can help the inmate reintegrate with society when they are released.

The inmate must complete a Visitor List form (CAJ-334) identifying immediate family members (see below) and not more than 10 other visitors. Those persons the inmate has placed on his or her visiting list must complete a Michigan Inmate Visiting Application (CAJ-103 found here) to request approval to visit. The Visiting Application must be submitted in advance to allow for review of the Application. INCLUDING A SELF-ADDRESSED-STAMPED ENVELOPE WHEN THE APPLICATION IS RETURNED WILL ENSURE THAT THE PROPOSED VISITOR IS PROVIDED NOTIFICATION OF HIS/HER APPROVAL OR DENIAL TO VISIT.  NO VISITS WILL BE ALLOWED WITHOUT THIS APPROVAL.

Immediate Family Member is defined as a grandparent, parent, stepparent, spouse, mother-in-law, father-in-law, child, step-child, grandchild, sibling, half-sibling, stepbrother and stepsister. An aunt or uncle may be included if adequate verification is provided that they served as a surrogate parent.  The inmate or family member will be required to provide the neccessary documentation necessary to confirm the relationship.

Visiting Hours are as follows:

I Monday, Thursday, Friday
Saturday, Sunday
2:30 pm - 8:30 pm
10:00 am - 8:00 pm

For more information or answers to any questions you may have contact the facility at the telephone number above.

ID number?

I would like to send a card to someone at this facility and know I need to put his ID number as well as name on the address but am unsure if this is the MDOC number or SID number (I've gotten both after doing a search on OTIS).  Can someone please direct me on which is correct?  Thank you...

re: ID Number

When sending a card or any mail you should use the MDOC number which stands for Michigan Department of Correction, the SID is a State Identification number which is mostly used internally.  If you are unsure you could always put both but I would just use the MDOC #.

Thank you!

Thank you for your response!
