Calling an inmate in Illinois

Telephone Calls for Inmates in Illinois

Inmates in Illinois are  only allowed to make calls to someone on their approved call list, they cannot receive any incoming telephone calls.  Three way telephone calls are strictly prohibited.  All calls can be monitored and recorded with the exception of legal calls which must be setup separately through the prison.

The only service provider for inmate calls in Illinois is through a company called Securus Technologies.  You can visit the Securus website here.  Inmates can make collect calls only to a land line, which means if you only have a cell phone or cannot receive collect calls on your landline then your only option will be to setup a pre-paid account through Securus.

When the inmate calls you the number that will read on your caller ID will be 1-866-718-4777.  The telephone number for Securus technologies is 1-800-844-6591.  This company is also who you would contact to block a call from an inmate.
